Deploying Rooms

Local Deployment

Set up a Pleneo Room on-site through a Pleneo hub's built-in web interface.

Before you begin

Make sure everything is physically connected:

  • Connect speakers, microphones, and cameras to your network switch

  • Connect the Pleneo hub's LAN 1 and LAN 2 to the switch (LAN 1 provides PoE)

  • A DHCP server is recommended but not required; see "No DHCP server?" below if your network doesn't have one

  • Open the Pleneo hub's web interface in your browser, by either connection type:

    By IP address (eg. https://192.168.1.15):

To find the ip address, perform a Bluetooth scan with your laptop or phone
or connect your laptop over USB. The IP address is part of the Pleneo hub's name.

    By Hostname (eg. https://roomhub-ff0010)
Simply type in (roomhub-[last 6 digits of the LAN 1 MAC address].
You can find the MAC address on the box and on the underside of the Pleneo hub.

Pleneo hub works best with a DHCP server, which gives it and its connected devices their IP addresses automatically.

No DHCP server?
If there's no DHCP server, the Pleneo hub falls back to a link-local address (169.254.x.x) so you can still reach it for setup by hostname, Bluetooth, or USB-C, as above. From there, set a static IP address in the Pleneo hub configuration for normal operation.

Initial setup

With the network connections active, complete the basic setup:

  • Download and update firmware

  • Create a password

  • Name the room

You're now ready to build the system.

Adding devices

Add speakers

  • Select Add Speaker

  • Choose the speaker model (for example, RoomDesign Ceiling) and select Add Speaker

  • RoomHub scans the network and lists the available speakers. Select the units you want to include

Add a microphone

  • Select Add Microphone, then choose the microphone in your room

  • RoomHub scans the network and detects the microphone. Select it to add it to the system

If you're using a Sennheiser ceiling microphone, enable third-party control in the manufacturer's software first. See Enabling third-party access for Sennheiser TCCM in Control Cockpit.

Add a camera

  • Select Add Camera, then choose your camera model

  • RoomHub scans the network and detects the camera. Select it to add it to the system

Your system is now defined.

Using Room bundle (optional)

If you're deploying a Pleneo Express Room Bundle, setup is faster. When you select a room bundle, Pleneo hub knows which devices belong together, scans for all the required products at once, and adds them in a single workflow.

Running AutoDeploy™

Once all devices are added, select Test Room. AutoDeploy validates the system and automatically optimizes the room. Once complete, review the commissioning report.

Camera configuration

After setup, configure camera tracking:

  • With RoomVision, auto-framing and presenter tracking are configured by Room OS automatically, with no extra steps

  • If your camera doesn't include built-in tracking, Room OS can provide voice-based camera tracking. Select Set up camera and follow the guided setup in Setting up voice-based camera tracking

Setup complete

Your room is now online and ready to use.

In summary

The web interface setup lets you:

  • Discover devices automatically

  • Build the system step by step

  • Run AutoDeploy to validate and optimize the room

  • Review the commissioning report

  • Enable intelligent camera tracking

Within minutes, the room is configured, tested, optimised, and ready to use.
