Replacing a Pleneo DeviceHub

Bring a replacement RoomHub back online with AutoDeploy™

Overview

If a Pleneo hub needs replacing, it can be swapped and reconfigured quickly. The room is set up again by reassigning its devices and re-running AutoDeploy.

You can replace a Pleneo hub two ways: on-site through Local Replacement, or remotely through Cloud Replacement. With Cloud Replacement, if your ticketing system is linked to the Pleneo Cloud API, you're notified automatically when a Pleneo hub needs attention.

Local Replacement

  1. Bring a new Pleneo hub to the site

  2. Connect it to the network

  3. Open the built-in web interface

  4. Re-assign the room's devices to the new Pleneo hub

  5. Run AutoDeploy to discover the devices, set up the connections, and tune the room

This restores full system performance, completely offline.

Cloud replacement

Replacing a Pleneo hub remotely, without configuring it on-site:

  1. Open the room with the faulty Pleneo hub in Pleneo Cloud

  2. Select Replace

  3. Enter the MAC address of the new unit, one you're bringing to site or a spare already there

Once the new Pleneo hub connects to the internet, it restores the room's full configuration and tuning from Pleneo Cloud automatically. The room comes back online within minutes, with no manual setup.

If your organisation links the Pleneo Cloud API to a ticketing system, you're notified automatically, for example by a ticket, when a RoomHub needs replacement.

In summary

A replacement hub is brought back online quickly:

  • Local Replacement: connect, re-assign devices, and run AutoDeploy on-site; works fully offline

  • Cloud Replacement: restore the full configuration remotely, with optional automatic notification
